1. Is there an age requirement for Opera Viva! ?
Opera Viva! is open to students between the ages of 18-30. Singers outside of this
parameter will be considered on an individual basis.
2. Do I have to speak the Italian language to attend Opera Viva!?
No, most of the classes will be taught in English. Some of the coaching might be in
Italian, but you won’t have to worry. You will have Italian classes almost every day
and will feel comfortable in your surroundings in no time! Having a working
knowledge of the language of a foreign country you are visiting always helps, though,
so get out that dictionary!
3. Is the class size limited?
Each session of Opera Viva! will be limited to only twenty students.
4. When is the deadline to apply for the 2009 sessions of Opera Viva!?

5. What music should I bring for the session?
You will need to bring five concert pieces (art songs or solos from oratorios, etc). The texts for these pieces must be in Italian. You are also required to bring solo repertoire for your private lessons and coaching. This repertoire can be concert or opera literature and can be in any language. Additionally, you will need to bring the music for the opera scenes that will be assigned to you.
6. Is it possible to have an apartment to myself?
Having a roommate can make an experience more fun, but if you know that you
prefer to live on your own, a single apartment can be arranged. There will be an extra
charge for the single, and they will be available on a space available basis.
